CMT Shifts Video Awards Show Into June
Fans Can Begin Voting On The CMT Awards Show April 13

CMT will televise its music award show on-air and online in June.
Honoring the best country music videos, The CMT Music Awards will broadcast live on June 17 on the network and on CMT.com. Country’s biggest superstars will be on-hand to celebrate at the annual award show and its live red carpet pre-show. Information about the host, venue and tickets will be announced at a later date.
"We’re always looking for a fresh approach to our awards show, and this year we’ve moved the telecast to June rather than April,” said John Hamlin, executive producer and senior vice president of production and development, CMT, in a statement. “The June airdate for The CMT Music Awards gives fans their first look at many of country music’s biggest stars right before they hit the road for the summer concert season.”
Country music fans will be able to vote for their favorite videos on CMT.com, beginning April 13, when the first round of nominees is announced; final nominees will be announced May 19.
Videos must be submitted no later than Feb. 18 and must have aired on the network between Jan. 18, 2008 and Feb. 23, 2009 in order to be eligible.
