Mary McNamara
![]() Mary McNamara was born and raised in Keokuk Iowa, watching television on a black and white Zenith that pulled in two channels. Even as a kindergartner, Mary was fan of westerns and recalls her first big television disappointment -- George Maharis’ departure from the cast of Route 66. Her first crush was Man from Uncle but her one true love was the original Star Trek. Mary majored in Anthropology at the University of New Mexico and minored in skiing the back bowl of Taos. After many years of working in corporate and entertainment PR, she switched sides to indulge her life-long passion for programming. A long time resident of San Rafael California, Mary is also an avid hiker and Marin County community activist working to preserve open spaces and wildlife habitat. User Stats

Lighten Up Viacom! (Enough with The Annoying Screen Crawl)December 31, 2008 | Link This | Email this | Comments (0) I'm on Comcast Cable, fortunately, hence sheltered from the latest Viacom/Time Warner Cable dust-up. (For background, click here to read Todd Spangler's article on Multichannel.) However, apparently Viacom has decided to drag ALL cable viewers through the mud of their dispute with Time Warner. Last night, while I was minding my own business here in Marin County and watching Viacom-owned Palladia HD (part of MTV Networks), an annoying and disruptive message began crawling across the bottom of the screen. When the first few words of the crawl appeared, I thought Marin County was under some sort of dire weather alert. Here's what the crawl said. Exclamation points etc. are theirs. &nb...Read More Industries: Business News, Cable Operators, Content, Marketing Recent Posts

Jamie Lynn Sigler and Justin Timberlake guest. ...Read More Recent Posts

Mad Men's Jon Hamm Set to Guest on 30 RockDecember 5, 2008 | Link This | Email this | Comments (0) The multi-talented Jon Hamm - who earned an Emmy nom. for Outstanding Lead Actor in a drama series for his nuanced portrayal of ad executive Don Draper in Mad Men - will guest star on NBC's 30 Rock for at least three episodes. The news wasn't unexpected after Hamm's fabulous comedic turn on SNL six weeks ago. (Hamm might be the new Alec Baldwin, destined to host SNL again and again. Click here for clips and my review of Hamm's appearance.) According to TV Squad: "And this isn't one of those one-shot deals. Hamm will actually be on [30 Rock] for at least three episodes and maybe more. He'll play a doctor who lives in Liz...Read More
