More than two dozen cable networks will hit a major, some might say meaningless, milestone before the end of the year: 100 million subscribers. Research firm SNL Kagan projects that by year-end 2009, 20 national networks, including TBS, The Weather Channel, Discovery and Nickelodeon, each will have amassed more than 100 million cable, satellite and telco TV subscribers, down as far as VH1.
